“Amethyst Lakes” Watercolour, 15x22” My second painting of 2022. A quiet yet grand place here in my backyard….

The New Year has started off really well in my art world…. I’ve completed two new paintings this month.  Paintings that I really love and am happy with.  It feels like it’s going to be a productive, creative year and I am, so far, feeling like I can stick to goals I’ve set for myself. Subscription to my Art Newsletter is growing, which is always positive.  And I am connecting with more people every day on social media who are in turn connecting with my art.

And that’s where I continue to find my grounding as well.  Even as I work through this journey and getting to where I want to be in my art career, the down days, or the days when there are stumbling blocks and it seems like nothing is being accomplished, creating my art is where I find the equilibrium. It’s where I can always go to find some peace, some joy, and have a sense that things are still moving forward.  This is why my motto for my art to you is that you find peace, freedom and joy, one watercolour painting at a time.  Because that’s the reality for me.  My only purpose in artmaking is that I can share those things with you.  That somehow my way of drawing those beautiful things into my life are being conveyed to you as well.

“Gentle Quiet” 30x22” My first painting of 2022. Nahatlatch Lake in BC. So many places like this in our beautiful Canada.

So, my first two pieces this year, really immersed me in quiet peaceful places.  They are worshipful places to me. They bring a sense of belonging, to something much larger than myself. And when I am within those landscapes, I know there are so many greater things already accomplished without me and many more still coming. I have a very real sense that this is not just me doing my art work, but other action behind the scenes going on as well, to help me see fruition in the things I am reaching for.

I hope you will take this journey with me in 2022.  It’s going to be a deep dive, a soaring higher, and a reaching and running forward. I am so expectant.  As you see my new art coming this year, my confidence is that we will both see what has already been developed there and what will be birthed out of the action within and the action behind the scenes.

A joyous New Year for all of us!
